About TravelMapReel
TravelMapReel is an independent iPhone app that turns the photos from a trip into an animated map video. It reads when and where each photo was taken, finds the stops, traces the real route between them and renders a vertical video for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.
Why we built it
A road trip leaves hundreds of photos in the camera roll and, usually, nothing posted. The videos that show a trip drawing itself on a map are popular, but making one meant tracing the route by hand in a video editor or running a GPS tracker for the whole trip. Your photos already know where you were and when. TravelMapReel uses that, so the video takes minutes instead of an evening.
How we work
- Private by default. The app only reads the photos you pick. Full-size photos stay on your phone, and your trips are stored in the European Union. Details are in theprivacy policy.
- Honest claims. We describe what the app does today, not what is planned. Videos have no music yet, and the app is coming soon on iPhone.
- Open map data. Maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors).
