TravelMapReel — Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of TravelMapReel, an app that turns your trip photos into an animated map reel. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use TravelMapReel. Questions: support@travelmapreel.com (placeholder — confirm before publishing).
1. The service
TravelMapReel reads the time and place metadata of photos you select, plots them on a map, and renders a short video. Your original photos stay on your device; how we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
2. Your account
- You sign in with your email (magic link) or a supported social login. You are responsible for keeping access to that email/login secure.
- You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country (at least 16, or the local minimum age).
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is a permanent, irreversible hard delete of your data (see Privacy Policy §6).
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content you do not have the rights to use, or that infringes anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- upload unlawful, hateful, harassing, or sexually exploitative content, or content depicting other identifiable people without their consent;
- attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape, or circumvent the app, its rendering pipeline, its rate limits, or its entitlement checks (including the free-render limits);
- resell or redistribute the service, or use it to build a competing service.
You keep ownership of the photos and reels you create. You grant TravelMapReel only the limited licence needed to store, process, and render your selected media so we can produce and deliver your reel to you. We claim no ownership of your content.
4. Purchases — Trip Pass and subscription
TravelMapReel offers paid options through the Apple App Store:
- Trip Pass (consumable): a one-off purchase that unlocks watermark-free, higher-quality rendering for a single trip (subject to a fair-use render cap per pass, currently up to three renders within seven days). A consumable is spent when used and is not restorable.
- Subscription (auto-renewing): unlocks Pro features for a recurring period. The exact name, length, price per period, and auto-renew terms are shown to you before you buy, on the purchase screen. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Non-consumable and subscription entitlements can be restored with Restore Purchases.
All purchases are billed by Apple or Google under their terms; prices may vary by region and may change (changes never apply to a period you have already paid for).
5. Cancelling — and why deleting your account is not the same thing
Deleting your TravelMapReel account does NOT cancel or refund an auto-renewing subscription. Apple/Google continue to bill you until you cancel the subscription with them.
To stop an auto-renewing subscription you must cancel it in your store account:
- Apple: manage it at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
The app will warn you about this before you delete your account if it detects an active auto-renewing subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple/Google under their policies, not by TravelMapReel.
6. Availability and changes
We may add, change, or remove features, and we rely on third-party map, routing, geocoding, speech, and hosting providers, so we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Disclaimers and liability
TravelMapReel is provided “as is”. Maps, routes, distances, and place names come from third-party data and may be inaccurate — do not rely on a reel for navigation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TravelMapReel is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law (including mandatory EU consumer-protection rights).
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which the TravelMapReel operator is established, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence. (Specific jurisdiction to be confirmed by counsel before publishing.)
9. Changes to these Terms
We will update this page when the service or our terms change and revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated Terms.
